Due to the special production process, instant spelt coffee is gluten-free. First, the individual ingredients are partially malted, roasted, coarsely ground, and mixed.
Then the crushed ingredients are brewed, creating a strong coffee extract. The powder, containing gluten prolamins and glutelins (which together make up gluten), is insoluble in water and remains in the filter. Spelt coffee is therefore gluten-free. In the next stage of processing, a liquid extract is further produced, which is turned into fine powder form through spray drying, then bottled. To ensure that there is no gluten or gluten residues in the instant products, Naturata conducts regular analyses – the gluten content is always below the detection.
